Job Description

Your Impact:

At Jacobs, our Power Solutions team is geared towards providing a more integrated approach offering end-to-end service to support our clients in energy networks, thermal generation, renewable generation and storage solutions space.  We are helping our clients meet the challenges faced in countries and cities across the globe, providing innovative solutions from replacing conventional thermal power plants with renewable energy to developing demand side management strategies.  

We would like to welcome a Civil and Structural Engineering Team Leader in our Jakarta office. This is a newly created role, responsible for providing engineering services in Indonesia, wider Asia, and ANZ regions with focus on civil and structural engineering services. This role will be expected to service renewable energy projects (geothermal, wind and solar), transport projects and other sectors. The Team Leader will need to be either a Civil or Structural Senior Engineering Professional (or both) and expected to:

Lead an existing team of Engineers and Drafters to deliver technically excellent engineering designs and consultancy services.

  • Provide mentoring, support and coaching to the team to facilitate the technical and personal development of team resources

  • Manage weekly workload for the team and allocate tasks as appropriate

  • Engage in independent technical design/review/assurance for project work

  • Manage projects delivering on cost, on time, and resulting in client satisfaction

  • Maintain compliance with Jacobs QA procedures, including deliverable review QA processes

  • Engage with high performers in a team environment to facilitate knowledge sharing

  • Work collaboratively with other team members to deliver goals and targets of the team and business unit

Drive business development and contribute to work winning, identify opportunities and support to win of those opportunities:

  • Contributes to business and sales planning for the Performance Unit

  • Collaborate closely with Jacobs sales team to identify emerging opportunities with clients

  • Works with the leadership to achieve mutual work/business goals

  • Establishes and maintains relationships within the industry (e.g. prospects, past clients, regulators, suppliers)

  • Support bid preparation and submittals as required

Develop and maintain strong key client relationships – with a select group of Jacobs key clients across the public and private sectors:

  • Deliver designs and projects to a successful outcome for clients and Jacobs

  • Enhance our reputation with clients through strong service delivery

  • Build trusted relationships with clients

  • Promote a client-focused culture when working within the team

Promote safety culture within the organization and with our clients

The Team Leader will support the business unit to ensure it can thrive in a global setting, encouraging cross-geography relationships to maximize the benefit of global delivery to our clients and our people.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

To be a successful candidate, you shall possess:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 17 years of working experience in detailed engineering works

  • Knowledge and skills related to Energy and Power sector (Generation, Transmission and Distribution, Renewable Energy, Energy Storage, Energy Transition, etc)

  • Experience working in a multinational working environment is essential. Work experience in an Engineering Consulting company will be an added advantage

  • Proven leadership skills 

  • Ability to work/collaborate together with Jacobs colleagues across the globe

  • Proficiency in English and Bahasa for reporting and proposal purposes
