Staff Software Engineer (Integration Specialist - Boomi)

Job Summary

Senior level application administrator with experience in areas including performance optimization, automation, capacity planning and SOX. May also have experience in audit, compliance and governance. Should be seasoned to independently manage projects. Analyzes business requirements/functional designs and works with business teams, BSAs, and other engineers to design systems and application software, mentor junior members of the team.

Responsibilities
Requirements Analysis

  • Reviews, analyzes and gives feedback on requirements/functional designs


Software/Application Architecture

  • Participates in architectural review process


Software Design

  • Designs for larger enhancements and projects

  • Conducts peer design reviews


Development/Coding

  • Develops and maintains code for larger enhancements, projects and integrations

  • Fixes defects and participates and conducts peer code review

  • Follows design and coding standards and processes

  • Conducts code performance analysis and tuning


Application QA

  • Develops unit and cross functional tests, develops test strategies, executes test cases, logs issues, manages issues, recommends testing frameworks and records and runs automated test scripts


DevOps

  • Defines deployment and release guidelines

  • Defines and executes environment planning and cross-functional dependencies

  • Documents the software configuration management practices and educates cross-functional stakeholders on the process and tools


Software Reliability & Support Engineering

  • Captures, consolidates and maintains inventory of production applications, flows and systems for all the software engineering verticals

  • Helps in preparing application support documentation

  • Troubleshoots basic application issues with the help of knowledge base documents


Reporting

  • Status reporting, release management progress updates


Technical Project Management

  • Provides level of effort (LOE)

  • Manages assigned development tasks to schedule/plan

Qualifications

  • 4-5 years of integration experience with majority in Boomi

  • Hands on experience in setting up Boomi environments and configurations preferably for Boomi on AWS

  • Strong understanding of platform architecture, integration points and business systems and develops integrations with SAAS, AWS or on-premises systems.

  • Ability to analyze and interpret logs (Process/Atom Logs)

  • Onboarded integrations to transaction monitoring dashboard (using AppDynamics )

  • Hands-on experience in platform administration (like Disaster Recovery, Access Management, Platform Maintenance, Service Onboarding & Shutdown) & performance testing

  • Implemented release and deployment processes using CI/CD pipeline, automation & create test payloads

  • Hands-on experience in troubleshooting SFDC connectors/listeners, Database Connectors, and Web services Connectors/Listener, complex scripts (Java or Groovy scripts), process/ sub-processes interdependencies and scheduled data jobs

  • Thorough understanding of REST, SOAP, Web services and API Communication protocols S/FTP/S, HTTP/S, File I/O etc

  • Ability to understand and document the upstream and down-stream dependencies of Boomi APIs

  • Participated in knowledge transfer sessions and created integration flow documents

  • Knowledge on Message Queueing and troubleshooting experience

  • Strong experience with enterprise application security (API/Messaging) and Boomi code vulnerabilities

  • Knowledge on Boomi Process building, development and good understanding of various data formats XML, JSON, CSV, Database is an add-on

  • Boomi platform governance, connector license management and continuous platform improvements

  • Strong knowledge on Message oriented middleware concepts including different Messaging styles  (Asynchronous, pub-sub), Messaging APIs (JMS, STOMP, AMQP, REST)

  • Strong working experience designing Kafka, NiFi & RabbitMQ/ActiveMQ   infrastructure for various environments (Dev, Test, Prod, etc.)

  • Working experience with Java, Spring Boot and Microservices (API)

  • Experience building continuous delivery (DevOps) pipelines for Kafka, NiFi & RabbitMQ/ActiveMQ components

  • 5+ years experience

  • Bachelor's preferred

  • Industry certification preferred
