Senior Manager, Data Center Facilities Engineer

Job Summary:

The manager of xScale data center projects and critical facilities engineers, you will plan, coordinate, approve budgets, implement resources for xScale projects.

Establishes project objectives, policies, procedures and work plans and delegates assignments to subordinates. Develops, modifies and implements company policies that affect immediate operations and may also have company-wide effect. Accountable for department budget which may be broad and have far reaching impact on the business segment.


Responsibilities

  • Manage, mentor, and guide a team of skilled critical facility professionals, including lead engineers and shift engineers

  • Lead personnel details including salaries, positioning, reviews, mentoring, and development 

  • Participate in vendor procurement and contractual activities

  • Participate in regular meeting with customer to establish healthy relationship

  • Manage complex projects to include project budget and scope and designate work to team 

  • Work with global and regional team to support various initiatives and projects

  • Participate in discussion on fit-out within customer licensed spaces from datacenter operation point of view

  • Lead complex incident management and fault resolution by investigating the issue, identifying the cause, and implementing the necessary fix

  • Develop and handles routine operational plans and meets targets against a monthly plan 

  • Implement new strategies to prevent potential problems 

  • Emergency and disaster mitigation 

  • Participate commissioning processes of new data center the operational owner, and complete handover processes

  • Liaise with both internal and external stakeholders for seamless operations of data centers

Typical Degree & Years of Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field

  • Strong people management experience

  • Experience in a facility environment managing, and mentoring skilled professionals  

  • Ability to manage change and influence cross-functionally 

  • Preferably, knowledge of EHS compliance requirements and experience in managing audits
