Job Description

At Jacobs, our Power Solutions team is geared towards providing a more integrated approach offering end-to-end service to support our clients in energy networks, thermal generation, renewable generation and storage solutions space. We are helping our clients meet the challenges faced in countries and cities across the globe, providing innovative solutions from replacing conventional thermal power plants with renewable energy to developing demand side management strategies.

We are looking for a Principal Representative with Contract Management, Battery Energy Storage (BESS) and Site Project Management experience and expertise.

The Principal Representative shall consult and liaise with the Clients Project Managers when managing and administering the contract, including providing advance/draft copies of certification and correspondence for information and review prior to issue.

The Principal Representative shall manage the three projects and shall be based at site and shall be the primary contact for the client for issues related to the project.

Other Responsibilities include:

  • Receive notice of contract discrepancies/inconsistencies and give directions

  • Provide notice in response to Contractor requests for early access or access otherwise than in accordance with the time or times stated in the contract to the site

  • Receive notice of any Contractor claims arising from a failure to grant access and make determinations

  • Consult with the Contractor in an endeavor to reach agreement and make fair determinations in accordance with the Contract (as applicable) and provide notice of such agreement or determination

  • Require the contractor to submit details of arrangement and methods for the execution of the works

  • Receive notice of readiness if work for inspections, carry out examinations, inspections measurements and testing and instruct the uncovering of work if and when required

  • Receive notice of tests on completion and make instructions regarding timing of tests and receive notice of results

  • Receive proposals for value engineering variations

Here's What You'll Need:

  • Preferably Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 15 years of experience with similar professional experience in Solar, Wind farm and other Renewable Energy.

  • Professional experience in the field of wind/ solar energy assessments; prefeasibility studies

  • Experience in BESS design development is an advantage

  • Experience in Contracts Management and Site Project Management

  • Familiar with Due Diligence, Lenders/Owner’s engineering roles.

  • Proficient in using PVSyst/ WindPro

  • Strong technical/commercial background with potentially diverse experience in the energy sector.

  • Excellent track record in solar/ wind farm, technical due diligence, site prefeasibility studies,

  • Ability to develop and maintain client relationship.
