Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers our cloud services. As an IT Field Operations Trainer, you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform. Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years training, education, information technology (IT), cloud systems, datacenter environments, server environments, or computer technologies experience

    • OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Information Technologies, System Engineering, Information Systems AND 4+ years training, education, information technology (IT), cloud systems, datacenter environments, server environments, networking, cloud, or computer technologies with a focus on in-depth learning of technology systems experience

    • OR equivalent experience.

  • CompTIA Certifications (e.g., Certified Technical Trainer+ [CTT+], Security+, Server+, Network+, Cloud+), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Enterprise Product Integration (EPI) certifications (e.g., Certified Datacenter Professional [CDCP], Certified Datacenter Facilities Operations Management [CDFOM]), Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), or equivalent.

  • Azure Certifications (e.g., Advanced Role Based, Fundamentals), Microsoft 365 Certifications, or equivalent.

  • Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT) Certification

  • Industry framework certification ITIL, Prince, Lean Six Sigma.

Background Check Requirements: 

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Responsibilities

As an IT Field Operations Trainer, your responsibilities include:

Learning Preparation

  • Deliver training specific to each individual learner’s objectives.  

  • Translate technical training information and content into digestible language and terminology.

  • Structure training with adult learning principles and best practices in mind.

  • Align learning preparation with relevant metrics for measuring success (e.g., cloud consumption, survey feedback).

  • Study, build, and lead a portfolio of fundamentals, role-based classes, or learning offerings. learning experiences, including new learning developments, adjustments to previous content, and future improvements with the technology or processes.

  • Generate revisions to training in partnership with relevant stakeholders.

  • Build awareness of the latest features, technologies, and processes and incorporate those into current learning experiences to ensure quality learning environment and delivery.

Learning Delivery

  • Deliver single to multi-day training or other learning experiences in-person or virtually with minimal supervision.

  • Focus on training courses that are typically limited to a single topic area or specialization.

  • Leverage a variety of delivery methods, including presentations, discussions, labs, and simulations, to deliver training.

  • Use digitally enhanced instructor-led capabilities to effectively deliver technology-based learning experiences.

  • Engage with learners to ensure content and concepts are understood and aligned with learner goals.

  • Apply classroom management techniques such as flexible learning, behavioral reinforcement, and time management, to reinforce learning, attendance, and engagement.

  • Create a friendly, supportive environment and encourage learners to ask questions.

  • Monitor the progress of learners to appropriately reinforce important learning.

  • Participate in hands-on lab activities to further build upon learning.

Collaboration and Engagement

  • Provide course content feedback to broaden Learning team using appropriate internal team channels as necessary.

  • Connect operation needs with learning programs and ensure compliance with necessary training.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify new training opportunities.
