Global Procurement Lead - Utilities - Global Supply Chain Management

This role performs activities related to material procurement, outsourcing, and vendor selection.  Typically performs one or more of the following in capacity of either an individual contributor (as directed and/or independently), or as a manager.

Essential Responsibilities include:

  • Performs activities related to the long-term supply of energy & other utilities for GF manufacturing operations.

  • Develops, implements and communicates company policies and procedures for purchasing energy and utilities.

  • Coordinating purchasing activities / decision-making with the engineering, manufacturing, and finance departments.

  • Leads negotiations end-to-end with vendors from issuance of RFPs to final purchase approvals.

  • Monitors the cost, schedule and performance metrics of contracts and subcontracts and adjusts as company needs and / or global trends shift.

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs

  • Works on other projects and/or assignments as needed

  • Leads a variety of complex projects, assignments, and tasks.

  • Applies, analyzes, and interprets procedures across functional areas.

Accountability:

  • Expectations to deliver instructions and orientation to others or define policies and processes for utilities operations.

  • Work will require significant decision-making and, generally, decisions will impact more than the one department with major financial, operational, and procurement implications.

  • Decisions involve putting together and assessing scenarios then selecting the best option from defined alternatives.

  • Maintains a focus on cost management, initiates, and drives improvements.

  • Leads large intra-team projects; coordinates resources and timelines within this scope.

Relationship Focus:

  • Builds stable working relationships within the department.

  • Coordinates efforts with others, seeks assistance and feedback as appropriate.

  • Has regular interaction with external customers and suppliers.

  • Networks within the function locally and globally as required.

  • Exchanges detailed information with internal colleagues

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience working in energy and utilities.

    • Requisite knowledge base includes: global commodities, energy hedging, energy contract structures & negotiation practices, long term renewables planning, energy production (i.e., power plants), geopolitical energy dynamics.

  • Significant experience in large industrial manufacturing and the relevant utilities requirements; preference for semiconductor experience.

  • PMO experience with international operations (i.e., GF manufacturing footprint spans three continents).

  • Strong executive interaction & stakeholder management capabilities.

  • Foundational analytical and presentation capabilities including proficiency with financial models, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint.
