Facility Site Engineer 

≪ scope of work≫

⚫ In order to continue the operation of the Data Center and customer service, we will maintain the facilities and equipment and improve the environment of the Data Center.

⚫ Assists the Facility Manager in monitoring the daily condition of the Data Center.

⚫ Record and report on the amount of electricity used and the status of equipment during daily patrol inspections. In addition, in the event of a malfunction, the vendor will arrange and keep a record.

⚫ In the event of a failure, we will report from progress to recovery. Obtain quotations and apply for purchase as necessary.

⚫ Respond to and investigate BMS alarms, report and report unresolved issues to Facility Engineers.

⚫ Ensure that the BMS system is in good working order and that the status of the UPS system and each facility is carried out through the BMS with a daily checklist.

⚫ Maintain and manage facilities by instructing, educating, and instructing contractors, maintenance vendors, and subcontractors.

⚫ As a preliminary work for the implementation of maintenance and inspections, prepare a plan that includes a procedure manual, safety plan, staffing, emergency contact information, etc.

⚫ Vendor inspection, and as a response in the event of a failure, the breaker is operated according to the procedure manual, and the system is disconnected from the operation system.

⚫ In the implementation of construction and maintenance by the vendor in the Data Center, we will confirm that the company is clean and orderly, and give instructions to contractors and subcontractors as necessary.

⚫ Inventory management of equipment and consumables, and maintenance and management of records.

⚫ Cooperate with Facility Engineers, IM Team, Data Center Manaja SE (Internal Relevant Departments) for customer orders, carry out operations, and establish a handover status

⚫ Utilize Maximo systems for asset management and preventive maintenance throughout the facility.

⚫ Utilize the Siebel system to manage orders related to the facility.

⚫ Data Center data management includes managing the number of cabinets in the assigned site, assigning power supplies, managing power usage, and managing contract values.

⚫ Report unresolved issues and improvements within the site to the Facility Engineer and Facility Manager.

≪ requirements≫

➢ Graduation in electrical or mechanical engineering is preferred.

➢ At least 3 years of experience in facility construction planning, supervision, and supervision-related work, or equivalent work experience is preferred.

➢ Experience in data center operation and maintenance or facility work is preferred.

➢ Japanese Native level, English Business Beginner level (It is desirable to be able to write or converse in English) )

➢ Ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

➢ Be able to work cheerfully and proactively.

➢ Coordination within the team.

➢ Those who can work in shifts.

➢ Holders of official qualifications are desirable (fire equipment technician, Class B hazardous material handler, fire prevention manager, electrician, class 3 chief electrical engineer, etc.)

Job Summary

Is a skilled specialist who works on assignments requiring considerable judgment. Focus is on tasks using considerable skilled judgment and has a deep understanding of standard operating procedures. Supports the overall team.

Responsibilities

Facility / Infrastructure Maintenance

  • Performs specialized preventative and corrective maintenance on-site to critical facility components and/or systems

  • Perform moderately complex repairs, maintenance, installation, and field inspections of critical equipment systems

  • Monitors the Building Monitoring System (BMS) and resolves alarms for specialized issues requiring considerable judgment and implications to resolve; follows guidelines on standard procedures and makes recommendations for solving

  • Operates and maintains plumbing, fire suppression, and life-safety systems

  • Implements energy efficiency measures

  • Assists team members in coordinating critical infrastructures

  • Works on assignments requiring considerable judgment and initiative. Understands implications of work and makes recommendations for solutions

Vendor Support

  • Coordinates and directs vendors on skilled tasks to ensure that maintenance activities are carried out per standards and requirements

  • Assists with the creation and submission of scripts for maintenance

  • Tracks and implements the work approval process for service providers for critical maintenance (including briefing at the start of work, control of work during the day workday/shift,and final review of the work carried out)

  • In cooperation with the vendors, changes/updates technical files for plants and equipment ensuring files and builds are up-to-date

Site Administration & Incident Support

  • Performs specialized site logs and data gathering for issuing of permits, such as Maintenance Operation Protocol (MOPs) and scripts

  • Identifies Single Points of Failure (SPOFs) and makes recommendations for solutions

  • Responds to all on-site incidents, including failures, significant problems and delays

  • Performs Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and makes recommendations for solutions

  • Supports the on-site staff during incidents

  • Demonstrates and supports processes and procedures are followed and adhered to

Work Orders & Additional Projects

  • Completes skilled work requests and circuit installations

  • Performs advanced troubleshooting and maintenance of office equipment (if necessary); supports auxiliary equipment and machines with problem-solving and repairs to avoid/minimize downtime

  • Makes moderate changes to mechanical, electrical and specialized systems, as directed

  • Carries out more complex infrastructure projects

  • Supports life cycle maintenance/end of life. infrastructure projects and critical replacements

  • May recommend infrastructure projects

Collaboration

  • Collaborates with others to resolve difficult facility incidents

  • Effectively collaborates within the department; may mentor team members on skilled maintenance activities

  • Informs stakeholders of inventory needs to maintain optimal stock levels of critical parts and equipment, may support in coordinating processes for maintaining inventory

  • Acts as a mentor to others in resolving incidents


Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience

  • High School Diploma

  • A degree in electrical or mechanical engineering is desirable

  • Candidates with over three years of experience in facility construction planning, supervision, and management or equivalent work experience are preferred

  • Experience in data center operation, maintenance, or facility management is desirable

  • Native-level Japanese proficiency and business-beginner-level English (ability to write and communicate in English is desirable)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • A positive and proactive approach to work

  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills

  • Availability for shift work

  • Possession of relevant certifications is preferred (e.g., fire equipment engineer, class II hazardous materials handler, fire manager, electrical contractor, class III electric chief engineer, etc.).
