Your Role and Responsibilities
As part of this leadership role, you will drive business development activities, further strengthen our consulting & services practice, drive effective business relationships with our key clients’ management teams and influence the overall success of GBS Supply Chain offerings across the industry sectors.
IBM is a leader in Supply Chain practice and driving the convergence of data analytics with emerging supply chain and procurement digital technologies with a focus on:
1. Cognitive Supply Chain Control Tower
2. Business Process Re-engineering & Services
3. Augmented Intelligence and Natural Language Processing
4. Advanced Analytics
5. Blockchain and IoT Capabilities
6. Partnerships with ISVs (SAP, BlueYonder, Kinaxis, Coupa and Others)

This leadership role will also be responsible for building teams, as well as identification, qualification and progression of existing and new IBM Supply Chain & Procurement solutions and services. The ideal candidate will be able to hit the ground running as a confident and professional communicator who prides themselves on helping clients realise the value of world leading cognitive transformative offerings working as part of an industry team comprising a set of focal clients.

You will exhibit the following key skills:

  • Proven track record in building & leading practice, business development demonstrating end to end success from identification to closure
  • Strong skills in analysing client pain points and building value propositions across end to end supply chain functions
  • Ability to articulate the solution to the client in line with their objectives
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proven track record of managing client relationships
  • Willingness to take accountability and drive outcomes
  • Industry experience preferably in knowledge of Supply Chain & Procurement – understanding of the key issues, processes, technologies across industry sectors

Responsibilities include:

  • Identifying and packaging offerings tailored to client/industry
  • Originating and progressing pipeline for the growth platform
  • Connecting client-focused team with offering solutioning and delivery capabilities
  • Helping create opportunities and pull through teams from practices into client experiences
  • Championing industry skills and client references to Growth Platform
  • Contributing to growth platform workforce growth plans and capability uplift

REQUIRED Professional and Technical Expertise:

  • Mature Leadership profile with 10+ years of Consulting experience in Supply Chain & Procurement
  • At least 8 years in a business consulting firm with experience identifying opportunities, building value propositions and closing the opportunity
  • End to Procurement experience, operating model design, sourcing strategy, spend analysis and BPO services development
  • Extensive experience in developing Supply Chain Sustainability Strategy, and implementing sustainable processes and solutions for clients
  • Consistent and proven capabilities in driving Sales/Business Development in large and complex deals.
  • Demonstrated successful leadership of transformation programs – from definition through implementation and realisation of desired outcomes.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively at the executive level
  • Demonstrated people management ability to lead and mentor staff of all levels
  • Demonstrated business acumen including superior negotiation skills and contract/profit management
  • Willing and able to travel as required
  • Deep Relationship Propensity – Worked with Client in a consulting relationship-driven behaviours
  • Experience working in a complex matrix organization.

PREFERRED Professional and Technical Expertise:

  • Market Eminence, developing Subject Matter Expertise. Personal Social and Digital Eminence. Published papers or Thought leadership profile
  • Has worked in international environment and across multiple geographies, leading cross-cultural global teams
  • Knowledge of Procurement solutions such as Ariba, Coupa, Tradeshift, Zycus etc.
