Communication Senior Manager

Job Summary
Responsible for developing and implementing complex, cross-functional and/or global communication programs.
Responsibilities
PR
This role is responsible for the development, execution and measurement of the Japan PR strategy, initiatives and tactics. They will manage the PR agency and drive day-to-day PR activities, measuring results against goals for all campaigns and programs. They will develop and refine messaging, write and edit press releases, media materials and statements, manage corporate and local announcements and thought leadership. They are also responsible for the development and execution of the executive communications program for the Japan Managing Director including preparation for media interactions and public appearances; providing counsel prior to opportunities and managing de-brief and follow up. The ideal candidate will build and maintain relationships with Japanese media. They will serve as a trusted advisor on PR strategy to internal stakeholders
Internal Communications
This role will proactively plan and lead Equinix internal communications programs for Japan including communications approaches and programs that drive employee engagement and meaningful connection to the company’s strategy. They will create and execute an employee storytelling program in Japan and develop and execute the Japan MDs communication strategy including the quarterly country all hands meeting
Social media
The ideal candidate has experience creating content for social media campaigns including blogs, videos, visual and written content. They will manage Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter channels for Japan, working closely with Digital Marketing on aligning paid social campaigns with organic content and follower acquisition. The candidate will develop the social media strategy for Japan in conjunction with our regional and global social media teams
Analyst Relations
In collaboration with the AP Analyst Relations lead, this role will be responsible for managing and executing a high-impact, local analyst relations program. They will develop and maintain strong relationships with relevant industry analysts and manage analyst engagements with internal spokespeople for briefings, inquiries, data centre tours and similar events. They will provide insight back to the Equinix Japan management team and other key internal stakeholders on analyst feedback, research coverage and information gathered from industry conferences. They will manage the creation of briefing decks and other materials for analyst engagements
Qualifications
Seasoned communications professional with a proven track record of managing high-impact, communications programs that deliver measurable results
7+ years PR experience with global B2B technology companies
Strong understanding of B2B and relevant industry topics (cloud, IoT, AI, CVST, payments, etc.)
Top-notch communication skills, including written, verbal and presentation skills
Self-directed strategic thinker capable of collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders in Japan, Asia-Pacific and globally. The ability to utilise existing, or form new, relationships with the communications leads for key customers and partners to drive our storytelling in the market
Strong planning and project management skills with the ability to work well under pressure and able to manage multiple projects and priorities concurrently in a fast-paced environment
Detail-oriented with a creative and strategic approach to problem solving and program implementation
Strong English AND Japanese language skills, written & verbal
Demonstrated experience in media relations, writing, project management, strategic planning and execution, spokesperson training and driving strategic storytelling to external audiences to secure message delivery in targeted business and trade media
Experience managing PR agencies as well as working at a PR agency preferred
Understanding of social media platforms for paid and organic campaigns, social media trends, and best practices
Understanding of social media usage for B2B companies
Experience with online content platforms such as WordPress, Canva, Kapost, Adobe Photoshop skills and distribution platforms such as Hootsuite or Sprout Social are a plus
Internal communications or executive communications experience is a plus
Ability to work collaboratively with senior executives and multiple stakeholders across a highly matrixed, global organization
Knowledge and understanding of the industry analyst ecosystem
Track record of executing analyst relations and strategic communications programs a plus
7+ years experience preferred
Bachelor's degree preferred
