Assistant Manager, Critical Facilities

Job Summary

Provides direct supervision to professional individual contributors and/or skilled, support individual contributors. Acts as guide to unit or sub-units and may become actively involved, as the need arises, to meet schedules and resolve problems.


Responsibilities

Management

  • Ensures the team is caring out responsibilities in a timely manner and projects are progressing, as encouraged

  • Manages personnel details including salaries, positioning, reviews, mentoring and development

  • Assists with testing and coordinating projects and maintenance activities

Project / Infrastructure Site Management

  • Plans, coordinates, budgets, and implements resources to complete required activities within the data centers. Develops and manages routine operational plans. Meets targets typically against a monthly plan.

  • Provides input and guidance towards budget

  • Overall site capacity supervision

Vendor Management

  • Oversees contractor work and operations to ensure completion to Equinix's required standards

Testing

  • Assists with start up tests, documenting and reporting all problems 

Incident Management

  • Communicates and coordinates activities and on-site staff during an incident


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience in a Data Center environment preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering/IT field or equivalent work experience
