Job Description


Microsoft Advertising (MSA) empowers the largest advertisers around the world to achieve their marketing objectives on our global ads platform.  We are seeking a top performing Analytical Lead with digital advertising experience who can drive revenue and increase customer performance through sophisticated analytics and will deliver customized solutions aligning to client’s advertising needs.

The Analytical Lead roleenables Microsoft to better serve strategic customers by applying customer obsession to what clients care about and need, ensuring our One Microsof tand Microsoft Advertising story is valued and understood. Individuals in this role have strong analytical, problem-solving,storytellingand consultative skills to bring deep insights toclients. Analytical Leads are creative, enthusiastic, energized by collaboration, and committed to developing world-class analytics experiences for our customers. 


Required Qualifications 

  • 6+years experiencein Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Marketing, Business, data analysis and reporting, data science, business intelligence, business and financial analysis, or related field.

  • Bachelor’s degree, advanced degree (MA, MS, MBA) preferred.

Additional/ preferred qualifications

  • Experience/ understanding of consumer and industry trends for outbound clients. 

  • 4+ years in a partner or account management/client service/client-facing role, or equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years of experience and proficiency using tools such as PowerBI/Tableau, DAX, SQL for data manipulation and visualization to turn massive, dynamic datasets into actionable insights.

  • Experience in digital media, data analysis, and data management.

Ability to travel 25% (domestic and international air-travel required)

Understanding Partner and Client’s Business:

  • Builds a deep understanding of clients' businesses across industry verticals, taking relevant industry trends, clients' value proposition, and the competitive landscape into consideration.

  • Curate, model and analyse data from multiple sources (e.g., 1st party data, vertical competitive benchmarks, third-party data, etc.) that tell the completestory for clients and partners of Microsoft Advertising. 

  • Proactively anticipates business questions andidentifiesopportunities toprovideenhanced or automated solutions to respond appropriately.

  • Developthought leadership content to drive strategic client conversations and help position Microsoft Advertising’s uniquevalue proposition. 


  • Createnewdatasetsand dashboardsusing existing databases andtools– specific to the China market opportunities.

  • Create interim solutions; engage central teams in support forlonger termefforts– for example:classificationand dashboards. 

  • Identifies, promotes, and implements methods that can beleveragedto create systematic efficiency in core work related to analytics and reporting.

  • Createa combination of scale and custom enablement based on marketneeds

  • Shares best practices and recommends and socializesoptimalmethods for operationalizing, sharing, and scaling insights.

Application of Data

  • Leverages data across multiple sources, understands data requirements and evaluates sufficiency of data across sources,determinesoptimalstatistical methods for integrating data.

Data Analysis

  • Appliesexpertiseto evaluate anddetermineideal analytical tools and techniques to address business questions. 

  • Guides and partners with others to execute complex analyses, resolve analytical challenges, interpret results across relevant client contexts, andprovideactionable recommendations.

Presentation of Results

  • Develops internal and client-facing presentations that tell stories of analyses, including reports, data visualizations, self-service platforms, key performance metrics.

  • Deliver compelling presentations through storytellingand talking points that highlight relevant insights. 

  • Seeksto build trust withpartners andclients, synthesizes details across analyses and reporting platforms into a cohesive story that serves to inform senior-level stakeholders' decisions internally and externally, andidentifiesopportunities to improve efficiency of reporting and presentations.


  • Collaborate effectively with partner (sales, marketing) teams to deliver solutions.Share best practices and drive adoption ofinsights self-service and one-to-many resources/tools.
