About the Role:
As a Strategic Customer Solutions Engineer (CSE), your role is pivotal in nurturing and sustaining strong relationships with our Enterprise customers. Your primary responsibility is to serve as their trusted technical advisor across every stage of their journey with Cloudflare. This entails being intimately familiar with Cloudflare's suite of products and services, allowing you to provide expert guidance tailored to each customer's unique needs and challenges.
Your role extends beyond mere technical support; you are the conduit through which our customers gain a comprehensive understanding of the Cloudflare platform. This involves not only resolving technical issues but also proactively identifying opportunities for customers to harness the full potential of our solutions. You will collaborate closely with Sales, Customer Success, and Product teams to create tailored strategies that align with customer objectives, whether that's enhancing web performance, bolstering cybersecurity, or optimizing their online presence.
Your overarching goal as a CSE is to empower our Enterprise customers to succeed by unlocking the maximum value from their Cloudflare investment. This entails providing insightful recommendations, assisting with platform implementation, and offering ongoing support and education. By ensuring our customers thrive in their digital endeavors, you play a pivotal role in fortifying their loyalty and fostering long-term partnerships with Cloudflare. Your role is instrumental in driving customer satisfaction and contributing to the overall growth and success of our organization.
Identify Savings & Expansion Opportunities:
You will proactively identify opportunities for cost savings and expansion within the customer's technical landscape. This involves a deep understanding of their infrastructure and Cloudflare's capabilities to optimize their usage effectively.
Modernize Future-Ready Applications:Collaborating closely with customers, you will guide them in modernizing their applications to align with Cloudflare's cutting-edge solutions, ensuring they are well-prepared for the future technological landscape.
Consulting Services:Offer strategic consulting services, leveraging your expertise to design tailored solutions that align customers' business priorities with Cloudflare's capabilities.
Customize Service Features:Tailor Cloudflare service features to meet the unique needs of each customer, ensuring that the platform is optimized for their specific use cases.
Innovative Solution Building:Employ innovative approaches to crafting customer solutions that align business goals with Cloudflare's technical capabilities, ensuring differentiation in the market.
Educate and Engage:
Foster strong relationships with customers through education, engagement, and problem-solving. Utilize data-driven insights and customer journey mapping to make informed decisions and ensure customer satisfaction.
Resolve Adoption and Usage Issues:Address adoption and usage issues promptly, applying best practices and your in-depth understanding of customers' environments to facilitate seamless integration.
Time to Value Acceleration:Work closely with senior-level customer stakeholders to expedite the realization of project success, ensuring adherence to best practices, and delivering tangible value swiftly.
Key Imperatives Achievement:
Collaborate with customers to help them achieve one or all of the three key imperatives: Reducing Risk, Generating Revenue, and Cost Savings, employing workshop-based engagements to drive these initiatives.
Experiences might include a combination of the skills below:
Minimum 8 years of technical experience
Deep understanding of how the internet works and the desire to expand that knowledge. For example:
Layers and protocols of the OSI model, such as TCP/IP, TLS, DNS, HTTP
Reverse and forward proxies and the applications of both
Security aspects of an internet property, such as Firewalls, WAFs, Bot Management, Rate Limiting, (M)TLS, Zero Trust
Performance aspects of an internet property, such as Speed, Latency, Caching, HTTP/2, TLSv1.3
Enjoying the adventure of troubleshooting and solving technical problems
Understanding why Cloudflare plays an increasingly important role on today’s internet
Ability to proactively identify and solve problems then build sustainable solutions to prevent recurrence
Technical curiosity, passion and grit: Cloudflare is at the cutting edge of internet technology, and our CSEs are viewed as subject-matter experts. It’s incumbent on us to stay up to date not only with Cloudflare’s specific products, but with industry trends.
Ability to manage a project, work to deadlines, and prioritize between competing demands
Fluency in English at a professional level
Having proficiency in a local language is considered an advantage
