Staff ServiceNow Engineer (ITSM / CSM)
Job Summary
Analyzes business requirements/functional designs and works with business teams, BSAs, and other specialists to design systems and application software, mentor junior members of the team.
Responsibilities
Requirements Analysis
Reviews, analyzes and gives feedback on requirements/functional designs
Software/Application Architecture
Participates in architectural review process
Software Design
Designs for larger improvements and projects
Conducts peer design reviews
Development/Coding
Develops and maintains code for larger improvements, projects and integrations
Fixes defects and participates and conducts peer code review
Follows design and coding standards and processes
Conducts code performance analysis and tuning
Application QA
Develops unit and multi-functional tests, develops test strategies, completes test cases, logs issues, handles issues, recommends testing frameworks and records and runs automated test scripts
DevOps
Defines deployment and release guidelines
Defines and completes environment planning and multi-functional dependencies
Details the software configuration management practices and educates multi-functional team members on the process and tools
Software Reliability & Support Engineering
Collections, consolidates and maintains inventory of production applications, flows and systems for all the software engineering verticals
Helps in preparing application support documentation
Solves problems basic application issues with the help of knowledgebase documents
Reporting
Status reporting, release management progress updates
Technical Project Management
Provides level of effort (LOE)
Handles assigned development tasks to schedule/plan
Qualifications
Bachelor's or equivalent experience in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
5+ years of demonstrated ability with ServiceNow application development
Experience implementing new modules or features, ideally CSM, OMT & Service Portals
Develop and deploy custom ServiceNow applications and integrations per organization established development practices
Working under the oversight of Sr.developer/architect and in collaboration with all other members of the ServiceNow team
Develop scripts, flows and solutions using available tools and established standard methodologies
Proven track record to configure ServiceNow using Apply Business Rules, Client Scripts, sophisticated UI Policies, Flows, ACLs and Script Includes and UI Scripts to fulfill requirements, including knowledge of and experience with JavaScript/GLIDE, HTML5
Must have experience working with Flow Designer and UI Builder
Experience in web service integrations using REST, SOAP, etc
Participates in Agile and scrum ceremonies and produces work associated with the goals to deliver value
Excellent critical thinking, communication, and personal interaction skills
Certified application developer
