At Jacobs, our Power Solutions team is geared towards providing a more integrated approach offering end-to-end service to support our clients in energy networks, thermal generation, renewable generation and storage solutions space. We are helping our clients meet the challenges faced in countries and cities across the globe, providing innovative solutions from replacing conventional thermal power plants with renewable energy to developing demand side management strategies.  

We are currently looking for a Principal Power Systems Engineer who will work collaboratively on the development and delivery of client projects with a particular focus on power system analysis, including grid connections, application of grid codes, grid development planning, along with compliance and reliability analysis. The Principal Power Systems Engineer will lead a regionally recognized technical discipline, collaborating with Jacobs Global Technical Directors, along with Operations and Sales to create innovative solutions for our clients, develop and nurture skills within Jacobs and build and manage relationships with clients and key contacts in the industry.

Here's What You'll Need:

The Principal Power Systems Engineer should have the following qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering.
Experience in power system analysis related to transmission grid development planning, grid system operation, and grid connection.
Expert knowledge and experience in power system modelling software including PSS/E, Digsilent PowerFactory, PSCAD. Experience in Python programming is preferred.
Knowledge of renewable energy technologies including solar, wind and battery energy storage system relevant to the current market.
Optional experience in Hydrogen Fuel Cell technology & microgrid.
Strong understanding of international standards and grid code.
Strong communication and presentation skills to articulate a clear technical direction.
Excellent Technical Report writing skills.
Capacity to work within teams to solve technical problems and achieve a high level of assurance on project deliverables.
