As one of The Best Employers in Singapore in 2022, Jacobs would like to welcome you to join our Water business as an Electrical Engineer. The role will be based at the Gateway Singapore office. Main duties: 

  • Work closely with the Electrical Lead, oversee all electrical matters from conceptual, to design and the implementation stage of the projects.

  • Perform LT and HT electrical systems design including lighting system, generator sizing, earthing, and lightning protection systems.

  • Review and understand scope, BIM, specifications, and drawings for all electrical works from client briefs that are specific for the project;

  • Responsible for developing technical and design reports, cost estimates, preparing tender specifications and drawings, tender evaluation, project implementation, testing, and commissioning.

  • Ensure that consistent quality standards and conformance with design plans/specifications are maintained across the project and coordination with Principal / Senior Electrical engineers to ensure consistency across the project;

  • Attend and take records of meetings, and discussions with clients, contractors, vendors and provide input into technical discussions;

  • Understand and follow plans, procedures, workflows, systems and tools to meet specific project requirements;

  • Liaise, coordinate, and resolve relevant technical issues with other disciplines and manage client’s expectations.

  • To engage with drafting and design staff to fulfill deliverables;

  • Provide technical guidance and support to site supervision staff on reviewing the design calculation and shop drawing submittals. 

  • Provide design support to the site supervision staff during construction, commissioning, and defects liability periods.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

To be a successful candidate, you must possess: 

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering discipline recognized by PEB, Singapore; with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in electrical design and calculation. Experience in the substation and electrical systems design of a used water or water treatment plant. 

  • Conversant with the relevant local code of practices and regulations.

  • Experience with engineering software such as Etap and SKM.

  • Experience working with Autocad, BIM, and 3D models. 

  • Registered as a Professional Engineer with PEB and with EMA as a LEW, SCEM or SGBC would be an added advantage.

  • Familiarity with green or PV systems, extra low voltage, and building services systems would be an added advantage.

  • Excellent in both written and verbal communication skills
