Success Secrets in the Semiconductor Industry: Meet the Women of GlobalFoundries

Soh Yun Siah is the Technology Development Vice President at GLOBALFOUNDRIES with more than 27 years of semiconductor experiences. She has served multiple senior Technology Development positions in Chartered Semiconductor Mfg and GLOBALFOUNDRIES SINGAPORE since 1996 after completing her Ph.D. degree with National University of Singapore.

She is currently in charge of GLOBALFOUNDRIES Singapore’s Technology Development department. She leads the technology roadmap execution and drives differentiation of the foundry technology portfolio. Her experience spans over multiple CMOS technology node generations and More-than-Moore specialty technologies (non-volatile memories, high voltage, power-analog, RF, heterogenous integration etc). She has published over 50 technical papers and holds over 25 granted patents.

Esya Samudra is a quality driver in GlobalFoundries (GF) Singapore’s 200mm foundry with prior 2.5 years’ experience in change management as a quality engineer for GF Singapore’s 300mm foundry. She graduated from the National Technology University Singapore in 2020 with a degree in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. She is part of the Graduate Excellence Model programme in GF and co-chairs the Alumni and Publicity committee to engage the interns at GF.

Coming from a traditional family, Esya is a strong advocate in discipline and hard work to seize for opportunities that come her way. She holds a strong belief of cultivating diversity as strength and creating an inclusive environment for mutual growth. When winding down, she can be found in dance classes, enjoying art performances or on a plane to somewhere. As an avid adventurer, you may find her trying out different things to quench her curiosity.
