Based in Malaysia and reporting to the Team Leader of Ports & Maritime, Malaysia, we are looking to recruit an Experienced Senior Maritime Structural Engineer, to provide technical input and solutions as well as provide preliminary and concept designs for structural projects whilst supporting multi-disciplinary projects. You will develop, design and facilitate the documentation of structural engineering solutions in response to a client’s brief to an industry standard, maintain competency in the field of structural engineering and stay up-to-date with contemporary practice and trends in the industry as well as take an active role in mentoring our Global Future Talent engineers .
In this role you will be responsible for high-quality, efficient structural analysis and design for a range of maritime and civil engineering projects. You will communicate your work to Clients via preparation of high- quality drawings, reports, specifications and presentations. The role will be instrumental in collaborating with commercial, project management, engineering, and design technical leaders to create opportunities for Jacobs to plan, develop, deliver a world class projects for globally recognised clients. You will adept at coordinating with colleagues across regional teams in multiple offices. You will aspire to regional technical leadership in your chosen specialisation.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering, ideally with Professional Engineering status. This individual should be able to demonstrate extensive technical experience in each discipline(s) relevant to analysis and design of wharfs, quay walls, piled jetties, breakwaters, and revetments. In addition, you will have good knowledge of geotechnical engineering and coastal engineering.
You will be able to demonstrate the following;
- Understanding of engineering principles and technical standards for design, construction
- In-depth capability in FE Modelling (StaadPro or similar) and engineering calculations
- Confidence (able to challenge when required and appropriate)
- Team work, personal planning and organization
- Effective communication, writing and presentation skills
- Commitment and motivation to achieve high qulity outputs and deliver excellent service
This role may involve travel in the future to interstate and international offices (post pandemic) to support the broader Jacobs business as required, but for the time being we’re successfully collaborating on MS Teams. This role also requires you to maintain strong ties and encourage and facilitate work sharing between the different regions.
