Job Description
What you will do:
The responsibilities listed below are typical examples of work performed by the Senior Legal Counsel. They are not designed to contain or be interpreted as a comprehensive inventory of all duties, tasks, and responsibilities. The Senior Legal Counsel may also perform other duties as assigned.
- Generally, provides legal support/advice to the BT&S China field business, including but not limited to contract review and negotiation, general employment matters, potential dispute resolution for AR collection and general legal matters
- Drafts and reviews various contracts (confidentiality agreements, purchase and sales agreements, service contracts, distribution contracts, project bidding/booking documents etc.) and helps with negotiation of such contracts if needed
- Attends project pre-bid/pre-book meetings as legal business partner
- Acts as a Legal 30 approvers under DoA (Delegation of Authority) and reviews and approves matters as per DoA requirement
- Designs and implement training programs on legal topics to enhance legal awareness in all cross functions departments;
- Works in alignment with Corporate Legal, Compliance and Data Privacy; support global projects launched by the headquarters;
- Works with and manages external counsel when external advice is required Other tasks as assigned by line manager
What we look for:
Education
- Bachelor Degree of a reputable law school in China or overseas
- China legal professional qualification
- Chinese language (native) and English language fluency (spoken and written) is necessary
Working Experience
- A minimum of 6 – 10 years of working experience, in-house working experience with companies in similar industries would be a big plus
- Solid legal knowledge with business oriented thoughts
- Working experience with top tier law firms in China would be a plus
- Proven good performance track in independent working and handling legal matters
- Ability to identify and escalate issues timely and appropriately
- Superior interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- Reference letters from previous managers/colleagues would be a plus if can be provided
