Working as part of a team, to do the structural design or review designs of hydropower civil structures like dams, intake, canal, desander, forebay, surge tank, penstock, and powerhouse to clients in the power sector. Project management skill of hydropower and pumped storage projects is desirable. Periodic travel within South East Asia for site visits and project meetings.
You are expected to support for tender/proposal preparation and report writing. Good working knowledge of International Standards and be able to carry out design tasks independently. You will ensure project work complies with the project scope of works, statutory/regulatory requirements, and client standards. Comply with Jacobs and Client safety practices are top priority. Safety plans should be in place for all projects undertaken. Active participation as a team member and/or technical lead on all projects whilst maintaining existing internal and external client relationships to achieve repetitive business. Project Management of projects of a size/complexity corresponding to the candidate’s experience. Projects completed on schedule and on budget. You will be responsible for implementing Jacobs QA procedures and Client QA requirements.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
You will possess a Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in engineering (Civil/Structural) or equivalent. With significant years of experience since you will be the subject matter expert in the detailed structural design and/or design review of hydropower projects. In addition experience in design of steel/concrete structures for hydropower and pumped storage projects. Be a user of a structural analysis software package like STAAD Pro or ANSYS. With an ability to manage your time effectively to ensure commercial deadlines are met. Strong communication skills and ability to liaise with a variety of stakeholders. A commitment to quality and accuracy. Project management skill is an advantage and depending on your experience and capability you may be required to manage hydropower projects, leading the project teams, controlling time and cost and communicate with clients. Good interpersonal skills who develops others and has the ability to build strong client relationships.
