Introduction:

GlobalFoundries Fab 9, the world leader in RF semiconductor manufacturing in Essex Junction, VT, is seeking a Semiconductor Process Engineer. The individual selected for this position will be based in our Singapore facility and part of the Fab 9 Vermont Manufacturing Engineering organization.   

This is a unique opportunity for a team member in Singapore to provide support to the Fab 9 US-based team, assisting and driving continuous improvement of 200mm semiconductor manufacturing processes.  This team member based in Singapore will directly support Fab 9 manufacturing engineering, and drive collaboration of methods and processes between the two 200mm Fabs.  The position will be dayshift in Singapore (nightshift in the US).  It requires training and hands-on learning in the Singapore 200mm facility with some US visits to Fab 9 to learn about Fab 9-unique processes and to improve team cohesiveness. 

Your Job:

  • Serve as the module focal point for our in-Fab nightshift team. 

  • Handle escalations from the in-Fab team of SPC/FDC signals, taking proper product containment and disposition actions, as needed. 

  • Establish, manage, and improve the sector quality control plan and OCAP procedures, using best known 200mm methods. 

  • Lead technical structured problem solving and define tactical next steps for the on-site team for equipment downs; must be able to deconstruct and understand complex systems. 

  • Assemble Process Change Review Board and/or Material Review Board data and content, as needed, in support of our quality processes, collaborating with GLOBALFOUNDRIES integration, equipment and quality engineering. 

  • Design and analyze experiments to screen and optimize manufacturing processes to meet technology (performance, yield, and reliability) and manufacturing (process stability, cost of ownership) targets. 

  • Ability to marry both the equipment and process sides of issues, focusing on delivering the right results on product. 

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements, and programs 

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree/Master/PhD in Engineering (Electrical / Electronics / Chemical / Microelectronics), Sciences (Physics / Chemistry) and Material Science

  • At least 4 years holding a process engineer role in semiconductor industry.

  • Candidates with no experience will be considered

  • Proven ability to identify, assess and solve problems

  • Strong SPC knowledge(Statistical Process Control)  

  • Experienced in high volume production environment

  • Knowledge of process engineering software systems and MES system( Manufacturing Execution Systems)

  • Multiple open positions

  • Work location : Woodlands

  • ~5% travel may be required, 1-2 US trips per year.

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Prior experience in foundry or similar industry background will be an added advantage 

  • Excellent analytical and math skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Fast learner and able to work with people from different region/background

  • Strong attention to detail
