We are looking to appoint a specialist Communications Engineer to work in our Malaysian Office. You will become a valued member of a growing team, working on a variety of projects. 

The Primary responsibilities are as follows; 

  • Experience in the delivery of railway system projects including review of contractor’s design submissions, interface management of communications to other railway systems.

  • Provide day to day support including the provision of technical advice, response to technical queries, and attendance at progress / design / interface meetings

  • Monitor progress of supplier design works such that it is coherent, and their interfacing and integration will be timely matched for each interfacing aspect.

  • Review and provide comments on submissions, consolidate design related comments from stakeholder parties and provide support to close-out design review comments.

  • Make business decisions that are legally responsible, accountable and justifiable in line with Company policies and procedures

  • Develop working relationships within the team, Employer and Contractor.

  • Able in reviewing design and document submission from the contractor.

  • Interface, Installation coordination and supervision

  • Understand the design/project cycle for a typical LRT/Metro/Railway project.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

The Comms. Engineerwill display effective oral and written communications skills to interface with Client, Contractor and Project Management Team personnel on applicable technical topics, pressing issues and understand needs and constraints.

  • With a bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science (or equivalent) and CIDB

  • Relevant knowledge and experience in Railway Communication Systems including high speed fibre optic based networks, Public Address, Passenger Information, Telephone, CCTV, voice recorder, SAP/ERP, Cable containment, CBN, radio, trackside wired and wireless systems.

  • Ensure timely response to all incoming letters from both Employer and Contractor

  • Punctual and responsive and able to provide solutions for Communication/OCC matters

  • Relevant knowledge and hands on experience on implementation of Cyber-Security (PAM, SIEM, AD, Firewall, etc)

  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
