Procurement Analyst

Job Summary

Assist in setting and accomplishing group goals in the development of procurement plans for construction and operations purchases. Identify, organize, and manage highly complex and visible construction equipment procurement, which has critical financial impact on the corporation. This position requires strong critical thinking and highly cultivated interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships and work effectively with global and regional teams, cross functional groups, and suppliers. Develop procurement plans for construction and operations purchases. Identify, organize, and manage construction equipment procurement working with global and regional teams, cross functional groups and suppliers. Responsibilities include a heavy emphasis on supporting the purchases for Equinix’s data centers and ensuring the execution of sound sourcing and supplier management discipline. Assess supply base and spend, and collaborate with multiple business units to drive cost savings and improve operational efficiencies.

Responsibilities
Business Partnering

  • Engage and collaborate with business &  global Procurement teams for Local procurement and construction project execution including data center facility equipment (ex. Generator/UPS/STS/Switch Gear/PDU/Chiller/Fan Wall etc.) purchase to ensures appropriate supply agreements are in place

  • Lead and manage team to ensure flawless execution with sound audit posture

  • Aligns with internal customers and legal for supplier contract negotiation and execution

  • Engage suppliers and internal customers at the appropriate levels to execute with speed and sense of urgency

Contract Management

  • Responsible for all relevant documentation execution including contract signature, supplier certification including insurance & ISO documents

  • Partners with Legal on the contract lifecycle management

  • Works with business partners to develop and agree Master Agreement, SOW, business and commercial requirements

  • Negotiates contract with suppliers

  • Manages business requirements for Order Management

  • Initiates supplier on-boarding where applicable in the Source to Pay systems

Procurement Operation & Execution

  • Implement and execute end-to-end supplier management process to manage performance, risk, and  compliance

  • Supports selection of new suppliers and conduct RFx

  • Tracks target deliverables including contract awards, supplier rationalization,  cost savings, and cash flow optimization. Provides monthly reports where necessary

  • Acts as point of escalation for suppliers when needed

  • Develop operating model and process to meet pre-established operational and financial metrics

  • Identifies and executes improvements in related processes. Apply best practices to eliminate unnecessary duplication and complexity across multiple Products/ Solutions and to leverage global advantage to local purchase

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Experience in construction or data center preferred

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in Construction Related Project Execution or procurement operation execution

  • Experience in cost management, supply chain management, commercial management, or contract management preferred

  • Knowledge in MS Office, Coupa, or Smartsheet a plus

  • Strong business acumen and leadership skills

  • Goal and team-oriented, proactive, and willing to learn & improve

  • Flexible and adaptable to fast changing environment

  • Fluent in both Japanese and English
