Job Description

This exciting role will lead Experian Japan’s marketing strategy across full lifecycle (planning, designing, execution, ROI). This is a highly autonomous role, being standalone in market, but supported heavily by regional support and resources and dynamic CMO. You’ll be responsible for establishing brand positioning using creative, innovative approaches to drive responses and support business growth. The ability to motivate and inspire others to use marketing more effectively, proactively getting business and sales involved in planning, and ensuring results are fed back and campaigns improved over time is a fundamental component of this role. This will be backed by a solid track record of delivering successful commercial and financial outcomes. You will partner with customers and our employees to support win/win solutions to complex business challenges in an ever-changing market. You must have a passion for getting things done, and an appreciation for detail. You must believe in continual process improvement but also be ready to jump in to handle fires if they occur. 

What you’ll need to bring to the role

  • Proven track record of driving winning traditional & digital B2B marketing strategies from the ground up
  • Skills for developing integrated, targeted value propositions to support marketing campaign execution, sales opportunities and client engagement
  • Ability to develop and interpret business/product strategy into market propositions targeted by client and market need
  •  Strong communication skills, ideally executive presence, as well as refined internal and external stakeholder management credentials
  • Agile approach to tasks and deliverable

What you’ll be doing

  • Assume overall responsibility for developing the annual marketing plan for Japan in partnership with the business; strategic market planning; market research programmes; field activities, and control of the marketing budget
  • Oversee the Experian brand in Japan via the:
  • Development and promotion of thought leadership
  • Management of web and digital assets
  • Meaningful and relevant outreach to media, analysts and other key stakeholders
  • Development and execution of client events
  • Manage social media presence and direct programs to improve social media reputation and recognition
  • Partner with key stakeholders to formulate and execute Go to Market strategies that drive awareness, penetration and revenue across Experian
  • Support (as appropriate lead) the development of differentiated value propositions especially across Business Units
  • Create compelling business, client / market and product messaging and content
  • Drive lead generation campaigns and measure / monitor results to ensure activity achieves desired outcomes
  • Be an active member of the Experian Japan leadership team driving culture and achievement of business objectives
  • Maintain personal high performance and motivation to manage workloads and drive achievement of goals

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, marketing / business degree preferred
  • Background in business-to-business marketing for information services, analytics services or high technology products
  • Strong marketing knowledge and experience in Japan, with 5 -10 years of marketing experience 
  • Strong command of English language – both written and verbal
  • Demonstratable record of being a respected and value adding trusted advisor
  • Ideally experience working in a regional/global organisation and working with colleagues/teams outside of Japan
  • Sound commercial and business acumen
  • Energetic, confident, driven and proactive with a “can-do” attitude
  • Strategic and innovative thinker – clear ability to contribute own ideas
  • Proven ability to multi-task, both strategic and execution focus
  • Excellent organisational skills, detail orientated – ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Excel, PowerPoint & Word, HTML & Adobe Acrobat helpful
