The mid-level engineer would fulfill the role of Maritime Geotechnical Engineer on maritime engineering projects, exhibiting strong technical skills and team participation to help drive projects toward successful completion. You will report day-to-day operations to the Team Leader of Ports & Maritime, Malaysia and will report to the Technical Director of Ports & Maritime.
The work would be principally based in our design office and key responsibilities will include: Geotechnical analysis and design, data gathering and interpretation, specification and interpretation of ground investigation, FE modelling (Plaxis or similar), Calculations, Design drawings, Technical report writing, Specifications for construction and Technical presentations to clients and in-house.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
The ideal candidate should have;
A relevant Bacheloler's degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering and be able to demonstrate most of the following skills and knowledge such as ;
- Working towards obtaining Chartered Engineering thru Professional Engineering Institution
- In-depth capability in geotechnical modelling, analysis and design of earth retaining structures (for quay walls), piles (for jetties), slope stability (for revetments, breakwaters), settlement and bearing capacity analysis (for reclamations)
- Detail knowledge of relevant standards and performing and engineering calculations, preparing design drawings
- A team player with a strong track record in strategically improving the technical capabilities within the team
