Your Role and Responsibilities
The role requires a person who is comfortable dealing with senior executives and has the confidence to continue building IBM’s relationship with business, national, trade and technology media journalists and influencers across a variety of social networks. The candidate also should be able to develop communication campaigns and activities to deliver well-tailored messages on IBM leadership in hybrid cloud and AI.
For the candidate, excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must and excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise while working on multiple projects are also required. Alongside an interest in news and current affairs and the ability to understand the upcoming media agenda, and plan news angles to match is necessary.
The person should be self-motivated and result-driven, and passionate for his/her achievement.

Key responsibilities:

  • – Provide day-to-day consultancy to your business area on communications activities, in particular, identifying potential issues. Be regarded as the first point of contact by the business unit team, inspiring loyalty and trust.
  • – Develop quarterly media plans and creative campaigns to promote key business activities and IBM differentiators that target a range of influencers including media, industry analysts and opinion leaders in social media
  • – Pro actively identify and create media opportunities. Work with thought leaders and subject matter experts to develop industry – relevant content and build compelling newsworthy pitches to take to target media and secure high profile media articles while firestarting discussions on social platforms.
  • – Develop high quality written materials, media briefing documents, press releases, creative copy and opinion articles.
  • – Work with business to identify client win and delivery success stories and once through approval processes, pro actively communicate stories to external audiences.
  • – Plan and manage the preparation and implementation of media events and roundtables.
  • – Demonstrate the ability to forge strategic press/influencer relationships and serve to the highest professional standards.
  • – Effectively manage feature campaigns


Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • • 5+ years experience in public relations and communications
  • • Good written and verbal communication skills both in Korean and English
  • • Hands-on experience with media relations required
  • • Knowledge of media relations landscape
  • • Knowledge on audience management, social media channels and new news platforms
  • • High level of organization, computer skills, and the ability to learn and apply technologies in day-to-day work
  • • Track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously with competing deadlines


Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • • Experience working in a PR agency or in-house communications team
  • • High level of understanding and competence in Social Media
  • • Experience working in IT industry
  • • Past experience managing, or working alongside, a PR agency
  • • Understanding of cloud computing concepts and trends
