Your Impact:

As a Project Manager, you will be assigned a portfolio of projects and be asked to guide all aspects of those projects, including project scope, technical, cost, risk, and schedule. Project Managers develop project proposals, assessments, project plans and schedules to support each project. You will support projects in the field as desired through the life cycle of the project and be responsible for identifying risks and implementing mitigation plans. Must be a self-starter, with ability to work within a dynamic environment, with minimal oversight. Will be desired to develop business and technical documents, as well as present project status and issues to executive level management and customers.

The position requires a level of technical expertise to successfully guide large complex projects including both renovation and new construction. Project scope may include military billeting, vehicle maintenance, aviation facilities, headquarters & administrative buildings, medical, research, and mission critical facilities.

The successful candidate for this position will preferably be a current resident in South Korea. Relocation and housing allowances are not anticipated. The role of Project Manager is a key Stakeholder role, being responsible for:

  • Guides the design team in the development of project documents by providing overall direction to the team, coordinating with external project stakeholders, internal team members and subcontractors, and serving as the primary point of contact with the client.
  • Work with both US and Host Nation Local Nationals engaged in preparing drawings and specification documents for the Conceptual Design Phase, Schematic Design Phase, and/or the Detailed Design Phase of a project.
  • Determines, monitors, and reviews internal costs, operational budgets, schedules, and staffing requirements for project teams, providing status reports and forecasts for project programs to both the client and in-house stakeholder.
  • Responsible for project deliverables on time and on budget, that are compliant with the Scope of Work and all project requirements. Identify, assess, and choose proactive risk mitigation measures for your assigned projects.
  • Being proactively involved in developing project delivery strategies Host / Facilitate Project Team meetings, both in-person and virtual meetings.
  • Develops project fee proposal in coordination with discipline design leads for specific budget input.
  • Perform business development, networking and marketing activities related to securing clients and winning programs/projects.
  • Periodic travel to client and project sites should be anticipated.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Minimum Requirements  

  • BA/BS or Bachelor’s in Architecture or Engineering plus sufficient related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.  
  • Architectural Registration or Professional Engineer registration in the U.S. and other countries with applicable requirements.  

Preferred Qualifications  

  • Master's Degree in Architecture or related Engineering Discipline or Engineering Management is preferred.  
  • PMP certification is preferred.  
  • At least being a Design Project Manager in an Architectural or Engineering organization.  
  • Years of project management and design experience within US Federal and/or DOD markets.  
  • Strong working knowledge of pre-design and pre-construction, building systems/components and technology, Federal Design Criteria (e.g., Uniform Facilities Criteria), National Building Codes and Standards of Korea, contract management, and project delivery methods.  
  • Good understanding of quality assurance needs and methods and experience controlling quality to improve commercial, contractual, and financial project performance.  
  • Proficiency in the preparation of reports and documentation using Microsoft Office suite, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.  
  • Proficiency in the use of estimating, scheduling, programming, and risk tools and in the use of Earned Value tools.  
  • Strong organizational skill and understanding of prioritization, with aptitude for leadership, team building, conflict management, client relationship building, and high-level problem-solving ability.  
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and customer interface skills.  
  • Must be self-motivated, demonstrate initiative, and be able to work independently or with minimal supervision.  
  • Participation in professional organizations is preferred.  
  • Bilingual (Korean and English) is preferred.
